Evidence of movement variability patterns during a repetitive pointing task until exhaustion

چکیده

Human movement is characterized by its variability: the same task never performed twice in exactly way. This variability believed to play a functional role performance and adaptability, as well preventing musculoskeletal damage. article focuses on time-evolution of throughout repetitive pointing until exhaustion. The kinematics 13 subjects performing analyzed. Principal Component Analysis joint angles identifies coordinations for each cycle, cycle-by-cycle comparison highlights variability. Non-supervised clustering reveals that adopt successive coordination patterns at an intra-individual level. Inter-individual number type such patterns: from 3 5 patterns, mobilizing trunk, shoulder upper limbs differently. Movement exists even seemingly basic constrained task. It appears very early stages fatigue onset, may correspond adaptative responses performance. observation should encourage workstation designers better account order preserve operators' health safety.

Preferred movement patterns during a simple bouncing task.

Elastic tissues in the human body can store and return mechanical energy passively, reducing the metabolic cost of cyclical movements. However, it is not clear whether humans prefer movement patterns that optimize this storage and return. We investigated the preferred movement pattern during a bouncing task for which non-invasive techniques can identify the resonant frequency, which is the leas...

Cycle to cycle variability in a repetitive upper extremity task.

UNLABELLED The purpose of this study was to examine the variability in muscle activity at rest and work during a repetitive task. A total of 20 participants performed a bimanual push task using three frequencies (4, 8, 16 pushes/min), three loads (1 kg, 2 kg, 4 kg) and two grip conditions (no grip, 30% maximum). The coefficient of variation (CoV) of muscle activity was determined for the anteri...

Movement consistency during repetitive tool use action

The consistency and repeatability of movement patterns has been of long-standing interest in locomotor biomechanics, but less well explored in other domains. Tool use is one of such a domain; while the complex dynamics of the human-tool-environment system have been approached from various angles, to date it remains unknown how the rhythmicity of repetitive tool-using action emerges. To examine ...

Recognition of Repetitive Movement Patterns - The Case of Football Analysis

Analyzing sports like football is interesting not only for the sports team itself, but also for the public and the media. Both have recognized that using more detailed analyses of the teams’ behavior increases their attractiveness and also their performance. For this reason, the games and the individual players are recorded using specially developed tracking systems. The tracking solution usual...

Changes in motor planning during the acquisition of movement patterns in a continuous task.

Changes in the planning and execution of movements were studied as a function of practice on a continuous motor task. Twelve subjects learned to move a pen through a cut-out square and maze patterns with their eyes closed. Maze patterns consisted of six, eight, ten, or twelve segments that were connected by intersections. Task performance was studied during six blocks. Although the mazes could ...
